The client for this project wanted to master plan a 12.8 acre site with multiple mixed use buildings and one large steel distribution building.

from Acacia-3Many layouts were considered and the final design was for 6 buildings total. Buildings 1 and 2 would be closest to Archibald and 7th street and would be mostly for tenants needing approximately 1,900 square foot of office space. Buildings 3, 4 and 5 were designed for tenants needing about equal amounts of office and manufacturing/ storage space of approximately 1,600 square feet. Building 6 would be a new building to relocate their steel distribution business to.

File Jul 24, 8 31 37 AM-2Building-6 is an 81,910 square foot building located at the end of 7th street.  The building needed to allow large 18 wheel trucks to enter the building for loading and unloading of steel payloads. The inside of the building was designed to support a 5 ton semi-gantry crane, 10 ton beam crane and 15 ton beam crane. The beam cranes could move the entire length of the building for the loading and unloading of trucks. The distribution area was supported by a 5,000 square foot administrative office area.
